Overview

Jetting water hose is the opposite duty to a discharge hose. It carries water, seawater or water with a small amount of sediment, so abrasion is comparatively light, but it runs at high pressure and has to stay flexible and dimensionally stable while doing it. It is fitted on trailing suction hopper dredgers at drag heads, drag arms and flushing pipelines, and is also used on long-distance water delivery lines.

Who it is for

TSHD operators and dredger builders specifying the jetting and flushing side, where pressure rating rather than abrasion drives the selection.

Key benefits

  • Engineered for high-pressure working conditions with structural integrity under continuous pressure
  • Special polymer formulation balances flexibility, ductility and stiffness
  • Modular structure for quick integration into existing dredging equipment
  • Suits both drag head jetting and long-distance water delivery
  • Steel flanges at both ends for secure, repeatable connection
Problems it solves

What goes wrong without it

1

A hose specified by diameter alone usually fails on the jetting line, because the governing requirement there is pressure rating rather than wear resistance.

2

Drag head jetting needs a hose that bends with the arm but does not balloon or kink under continuous pressure.

3

Integrating a new jetting run into an existing flushing system is slow when sections are not built as bolt-on modules.

Construction and technical features

  • Designed for water, seawater or water with small amounts of sediment
  • High pressure rating with maintained flexibility and ductility
  • Sufficient rigidity to resist deformation under working pressure
  • Modular section design for fast system integration
  • Q235 carbon steel flanges

Quality control

  • Raw material inspection on incoming rubber compounds and reinforcement
  • Dimensional check on inner diameter, wall thickness and flange alignment
  • Pressure testing to the specified working pressure
  • Third-party inspection can be arranged on request

Where it is used

  • Drag head jetting on a trailing suction hopper dredger
  • Drag arm flushing pipework
  • Deck flushing systems on dredging vessels
  • Long-distance water delivery pipelines

Customisation

  • Inner diameter 100-400 mm, length 1000-6000 mm
  • Working pressure specified within the 0.5-2.5 MPa band
  • Flange drilling matched to the existing jetting system
  • Modular section lengths to suit the drag arm layout

How it compares

Do not fit a discharge hose on the jetting line. Discharge hose is built around abrasion resistance for slurry; jetting hose is built around pressure capability for clean or nearly clean water, and is a smaller diameter range at 100-400 mm rather than up to 1100 mm.

Selection and use notes

  • Check the jetting pump's working pressure against the 0.5-2.5 MPa band before ordering
  • Route the hose so the drag arm's movement does not exceed its bend range
  • Use the modular section lengths to avoid field-fabricated joints
  • Inspect flange faces for erosion where sediment is present in the water
FAQ

Questions buyers ask

What pressure is this hose rated to?

0.5-2.5 MPa working pressure and 1.5-7.5 MPa burst pressure.

What sizes are available?

Inner diameter 100-400 mm and length 1000-6000 mm.

Can it carry sediment-laden water?

It is designed for water, seawater or water mixed with small amounts of sediment. For slurry duty, use a discharge hose instead.

Where is it normally installed?

On TSHD drag heads, drag arms and flushing pipelines, and in long-distance water delivery pipelines.

How quickly can it be fitted to an existing system?

It is designed with a modular structure specifically for quick integration into existing dredging equipment systems.

Is third-party inspection available?

Yes, an inspection agency can be invited to inspect according to your requirements.

Need this section to bolt into what you already run?

Send the flange drawing, the bore and the working pressure. We will confirm the specification and the lead time.
