PE Float
Seamless PE shell with closed-cell PU foam core. Buoyancy 150-5000 kg, plus pipe laying floats to 3000 m.
What this group covers
PE floats keep HDPE and steel dredging pipe on the surface. The shell is polyethylene, seamless and weld-free, and the core is high-density closed-cell polyurethane foam, so buoyancy survives impact damage that would flood an air-filled or welded steel float. Pipe laying floats are a different job again: temporary buoyancy that controls weight and tension while an offshore line is being installed.

PE Float with Location Slot
PU-filled PE float with a location slot that grips the pipe, buoyancy 150-5000kg, ID 110-1200mm.

PE Float without Location Slot
PU-filled PE float with plain bore, buoyancy 150-5000kg, ID 110-1200mm, seamless shell.

Pipe Laying Float
Pipeline foam buoys for offshore and subsea pipe laying, rated to 3000m seawater depth.
View specificationsHow to choose within this group
Start from the flooded weight of the line, not the empty weight, and size the total buoyancy from that.
Decide whether the float must be locked to the pipe. If floats have been migrating along the line under current or wave action, specify the location slot version.
Match the float inner diameter to the actual pipe outer diameter, across the 110-1200 mm range.
For offshore or subsea installation rather than a surface line, the pipe laying float is the product; it is rated to 3000 m seawater and supplied one-piece or modular.
