Overview
When a cutter is chewing coral reef or weathered rock, a standard discharge hose does not last a season. This hose embeds wear-resistant steel rings of HB 450 or harder into the NR/SBR lining, so the abrasive load lands on steel rather than on rubber alone. It is fitted on dredger discharge pipelines or mounted directly on the cutter ladder, with Q235 steel flanges and welded nipples at both ends for fast replacement.
Who it is for
CSD and TSHD operators whose current discharge hose is failing early because the dredged material is sharp, hard or large-grained.
Key benefits
- Internal wear-resistant steel rings at HB 450 or harder take the abrasive load
- Conveys sharp and hard material such as coral reef and weathered rock over the long term
- High pressure-bearing capability for continuous heavy-load operation
- Bends to complex pipeline layouts despite the armored lining
- Steel flanges at both ends for quick section replacement
What goes wrong without it
Angular, high-hardness particles cut a conventional lining open long before the rest of the line is worn, forcing section changes mid-campaign.
A hose stiff enough to resist abrasion usually will not bend around a ladder mounting; the armored construction keeps bending flexibility while carrying the wear rings.
Continuous heavy-load pumping produces pressure pulses that fatigue a joint; textile reinforcement plus the ring structure holds the bore stable.
Construction and technical features
- Inner lining: wear- and corrosion-resistant NR/SBR mix with embedded wear-resistant steel ring, hardness HB >= 450
- Reinforcement: multiple layers of high-tensile textile
- Outer cover: black weather- and abrasion-resistant natural rubber with warning layer
- Flanges: Q235 carbon steel with welded nipples
- Marking: East Dredging branding or customer logo
Quality control
- Raw material test on every batch of natural rubber, tensile textile and rubber additives before it enters the warehouse
- Hose dimension check on inner diameter, outer diameter, wall thickness and flange alignment against the design drawing
- Weight check on every hose to confirm it falls inside the agreed tolerance band
- Hydrostatic or vacuum pressure test to the specified working pressure when the order calls for it
- Third-party inspection can be arranged on request
Where it is used
- Cutter suction dredger cutting coral reef in a capital dredging contract
- Ladder-mounted section immediately behind the cutter head
- Weathered rock and gravel removal in port deepening works
- Water conservancy works where the material is coarse and angular
Customisation
- Inner diameter 100-1100 mm, length 1000-11800 mm
- Steel or sandwich flange to your flange table
- Working pressure specified within 0.5-4.2 MPa
- Customer logo and section identification in the marking
How it compares
Compared with the standard discharge hose, the armored version adds embedded HB 450+ steel rings in the lining and is intended for material a conventional hose cannot survive long-term. It costs more per section and is heavier; on soft sand and silt the standard hose is the right specification. Compared with the sandwich-flange armored version, this one gives a hard machined sealing face for lines that are bolted and unbolted frequently.
Selection and use notes
- Specify the material being cut, not just the diameter, so the ring configuration matches the duty
- Keep bends inside the rated radius; the armored lining tolerates flexing but not forced kinks
- Plan section rotation so the most heavily loaded position does not stay in the same place all campaign
- Inspect the flange face and nipple weld at each bolt-up
Questions buyers ask
What material can this hose handle that a standard hose cannot?
Sharp and abrasive material such as coral reef and weathered rock, and solid particles with angular shapes, high hardness and large particle size.
How hard are the internal wear rings?
The wear-resistant steel ring embedded in the NR/SBR lining has a hardness of HB 450 or higher.
Can it be mounted on a cutter ladder?
Yes. It is mainly installed on dredger discharge pipelines or mounted on the ladder structure of cutter suction dredgers.
Does the armoring stop it bending?
No. It retains bending flexibility so it can follow complex pipeline layouts and deformation requirements.
What lengths do you make?
1000 mm to 11800 mm, with inner diameter from 100 mm to 1100 mm.
Can we get an independent inspection before shipment?
Yes. A third-party inspection agency can be invited to inspect according to your requirements.
