Overview

The steel-flanged discharge hose is the workhorse section of a dredger's delivery line. It carries slurry, tailings and mixed material away from the pump and can be built into a floating line, an onshore line or a submerged line without changing the connection method. The body is a natural and synthetic rubber composite chosen for abrasion, corrosion and bending resistance, and the Q235 carbon steel flanges with welded nipples let a crew swap a worn section without cutting or re-welding pipe.

Who it is for

Dredging contractors, port construction companies and dredger owners who buy delivery line by the section and need a hose that fits the flange standard already on the vessel.

Key benefits

  • Fits floating, onshore and submerged pipeline positions with one flange standard
  • Wear warning layer in the lining indicates remaining service life before failure
  • Q235 carbon steel flanges with welded nipples take repeated bolt-up cycles
  • Multiple high-tensile textile reinforcement layers hold shape under pulsating pump pressure
  • Marked with East Dredging branding or the customer's own logo for fleet identification
Problems it solves

What goes wrong without it

1

Rigid steel spools crack or leak where a dredger's delivery line has to flex with swell, tide and pontoon movement; a rubber section absorbs that movement instead of transmitting it to the joint.

2

A worn discharge section normally means an unplanned shutdown. Bolted steel flanges let the crew change a section in place with the tools already on board.

3

Wear inside a delivery hose is invisible until it fails. The integrated wear warning layer shows service condition before a burst takes the line down.

Construction and technical features

  • Inner lining: black wear- and corrosion-resistant natural rubber compound with an integrated wear warning layer
  • Reinforcement: multiple layers of high-tensile textile for pressure resistance and structural stability
  • Outer cover: black weather- and abrasion-resistant natural rubber with a warning layer
  • Flanges: Q235 carbon steel with welded nipples
  • Marking: durable identification marking, customer logo available

Quality control

  • Raw material test on every batch of natural rubber, tensile textile and rubber additives before it enters the warehouse
  • Hose dimension check on inner diameter, outer diameter, wall thickness and flange alignment against the design drawing
  • Weight check on every hose to confirm it falls inside the agreed tolerance band
  • Hydrostatic or vacuum pressure test to the specified working pressure when the order calls for it
  • Third-party inspection can be arranged on request

Where it is used

  • Floating delivery line behind a cutter suction dredger working a navigation channel
  • Onshore discharge run from the shore connection to a reclamation cell
  • Submerged crossing where the line has to drop under a shipping lane
  • Port construction and water conservancy works where the line is re-laid between phases

Customisation

  • Inner diameter from 100 to 1100 mm and length from 500 to 11800 mm to match the existing line
  • Steel or sandwich flange, drilled to the flange table your fleet already uses
  • Customer logo and section numbering moulded into the marking layer
  • Working pressure specified inside the 0.5-4.2 MPa band for the duty

How it compares

Choose the steel flange version when the line is bolted up and broken down often and the crew needs a hard, repeatable sealing face. Choose the sandwich flange version when weight matters and the rubber-lined sealing face is preferred for the medium in contact. For sharp coral, weathered rock or angular material, step up to the armored discharge hose with internal wear-resistant steel rings.

Selection and use notes

  • Confirm the flange drilling and bolt circle against the section it replaces before ordering
  • Support the hose so its own weight is not carried by the flange bolts
  • Keep the bend radius inside the hose's rated range; do not force a tighter curve with the crane
  • Inspect the wear warning layer at each shutdown and rotate sections to even out wear
FAQ

Questions buyers ask

What inner diameters can you supply?

100 mm to 1100 mm. Length runs from 500 mm to 11800 mm, so most standard line sections can be matched without an adapter.

What is the working and burst pressure?

Working pressure is 0.5-4.2 MPa and burst pressure is 1.5-12.6 MPa, specified per order within those bands.

Can you drill the flanges to our existing standard?

Yes. Send the flange drawing or the bolt circle and hole count from the section you are replacing and the flanges are machined to match.

Can the hose carry our own logo?

Yes. The marking layer can carry East Dredging branding or your own logo and section numbering for fleet identification.

Is there an independent inspection option?

Yes. A third-party inspection agency can be invited to inspect according to your requirements.

How do I know when a section is worn out?

The lining carries a wear warning layer. Once it becomes visible the section has reached the end of its intended wear allowance and should be rotated out.

Need this section to bolt into what you already run?

Send the flange drawing, the bore and the working pressure. We will confirm the specification and the lead time.
