The commercial ceiling fan is the smaller sibling of the industrial range, developed for spaces where the ceiling height is no more than about 7 m and where the fan is visible to the public. Diameters run 2.4 m (8 ft), 3 m (10 ft) and 3.7 m (12 ft).
Drive is the same IE5 standard energy efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motor. Wind speed range is 1 to 4.5 m/s, coverage is around 330 m2, noise stays under 38 dB and the fan is quoted as free maintenance with a 20-year service life.
The industry problem it addresses is specific: closed spaces with poor air circulation and no fresh air, dense crowds for short periods leaving the air turbid and the odour noticeable, and floor areas so large that air conditioning cannot cover them without a daily operating cost the business cannot carry.
Around 330 m2 from one fan, which is a full restaurant floor, a mid-size gym hall or a supermarket aisle group, instead of the few square metres a wall fan reaches.
Under 38 dB means conversation, music and announcements are unaffected, which is the difference between a fan people notice and a fan people only feel.
Running the fan alongside existing air conditioning lets the set point rise while the room still feels comfortable, which is where the saving comes from in a building that is already fitted out.
Bronze airfoil blades with T5 plus bright surface oxidation, an appearance intended for a dining room or showroom rather than a plant floor.
In a large room the units cool the zones near them and leave dead corners. One HVLS fan spreads a moving airflow layer across the whole floor area.
Dense occupancy for a short period leaves turbid air and noticeable odour, and it is what makes people leave sooner. Continuous circulation clears it.
A wall of oscillating fans is visible, noisy and points air at some customers and not others. One slow ceiling fan is neither.
Huge electricity consumption raises daily operating costs in a large space. Air movement changes the perceived temperature without changing the thermostat load.
No rotor losses, high efficiency and precision, large power factor, frequency modulation width of 2 to 200 Hz, small and light for its output.
Extruded and stretched with an energy saving tail, high strength and good toughness at low weight, finished with T5 plus bright surface oxidation for corrosion and oxidation resistance.
Unique design with no position vector control and centralised operation, four buttons for start, stop, speed up and slow down.
Over-voltage, under-voltage, voltage loss regulation, current, phase loss, overload, collision, overheating, lightning and abnormal protection.
Integrated motor bracket against falling, anti-off-plate break-off structure, tensile blade with internal reinforcement, and automatic power-off protection on accidental contact.
Every figure below comes from our own specification. Where a value depends on the diameter or the duty it is written as TBC rather than invented, and it is confirmed on the specification sheet issued with your quotation.
| Fan diameter | 2.4 m (8 ft), 3 m (10 ft), 3.7 m (12 ft) |
|---|---|
| Motor type | IE5 permanent magnet synchronous motor, external rotor |
| Wind speed range | 1 to 4.5 m/s |
| Coverage area | Around 330 m2 |
| Noise | Under 38 dB |
| Frequency modulation width | 2 to 200 Hz |
| Recommended ceiling height | Up to about 7 m |
| Blade material | Extruded and stretched aluminium magnesium alloy, T5 plus bright surface oxidation |
| Service life | Quoted at 20 years, free maintenance |

How to decide between the commercial fan and the alternatives on the shortlist.
| Against the industrial ceiling fan | Below roughly 6 to 7 m clear height, and where the fan is visible to customers, the commercial range is the right one. Above that, coverage per fan matters more and the industrial range wins. |
|---|---|
| Against domestic ceiling fans | A household fan is not built for continuous commercial duty and covers a fraction of the area. The commercial fan carries a commercial-grade motor and a 20-year service life figure. |
| Against wall and pedestal fans | Wall fans point air at part of the room and are noisy at the seats nearest them. One ceiling fan covers around 330 m2 evenly. |
| Against adding more air conditioning | Extra units raise capital cost and daily running cost. Adding a fan lets the existing system work at a higher set point instead. |
This range is designed for rooms up to about 7 m. Above that the air column loses effect before it reaches the floor and the industrial range is the correct choice.
Allow clearance to beams, light fittings, sprinkler heads and ductwork. Send a reflected ceiling plan with the enquiry and the positions can be marked against the services.
Raise the air conditioning set point and let the fan carry the comfort. Turning the cooling off entirely is not the intended use in a hot climate.
In a restaurant or gym the blades collect grease and dust. Include them in the regular cleaning round rather than waiting for them to be visibly dirty.

HVLS Floor Fan
A wheeled HVLS fan that throws air up to 28 m in open space, for bays where nothing can be hung from the roof and the cooling has to follow the work.

For a gym or fitness room up to about 7 m high, yes, and it is the usual choice because it fits a tighter space and keeps a clean appearance. For a full-height sports hall, a 3 m to 7.3 m industrial fan is the better fit.
That is set by the drop rod, which is specified with the order to suit the ceiling height and to clear lighting and services. Confirm the finished floor to ceiling height and the depth of any suspended ceiling when you enquire.
Blade and housing colour can follow your specification on production orders. Confirm the finish before the spray line is scheduled, because a change afterwards costs a full cycle.
Yes, and that is the normal installation. The fan lets the cooling run at a higher set point while the room still feels comfortable, which is what produces the saving.
Single units are accepted. A restaurant or showroom fitting out two or three rooms can order exactly that, and the units consolidate into one shipment.
The fan is operated by the four-button centralised controller for start, stop, speed up and slow down. Tell us where you want the control point and the cable run is planned with the layout.
