Product Overview
A diesel generator takes the diesel engine as prime mover and drives a synchronous generator to produce electricity. It starts quickly, is convenient to operate and maintain, needs less investment than the alternatives and adapts well to difficult environments.
Diamond is a first-class agent for Yuchai diesel generators. Open, silent, trailer and container types are all available and the container type is the most popular with our customers. A biogas generator is also offered. The container range runs 500 kW to 2000 kW.
Noise control is built into the enclosure rather than added afterwards: high-density insulation foam in the panels, Rockwool inside the silencer, and a large block behind the canopy air intake. Every generator uses 304 stainless steel screws, hinges and lockers to prevent rust in service. The set consists of a base, diesel engine, base fuel tank, generator, controller, radiator with either air cooling by fan or water cooling by water tank, and a static sound box.

Getting It Right on Site

Size the set against the starting load
Motors, pumps and compressors draw far more on start than they do running. Send the largest motor rating on site along with the total load.

Plan the airflow path before the position
The radiator needs a clear air path in and out. Placing the container against a wall at the intake end undoes the cooling design.

Keep the doors serviceable
The 304 stainless hinges and lockers are there so the box still opens years in. Keep the door seals clean and the locks lubricated.

Service the engine to the Yuchai schedule
The engine is a Yuchai product with its own maintenance schedule, and the fuel and lubricating oil consumption figures assume it is being followed.
