The 2 inch WA Series metallic AODD pump delivers 172 GPM, or 651 LPM, at up to 120 psi or 8.3 bar. It lifts 8.3 m dry and passes solids up to 6.4 mm. The pump is available in aluminum, cast iron or 316 stainless steel, so the body matches the fluid chemistry. The air motor is stall free and lube free, so it starts under load and needs no oiler. The compact, bolted construction keeps the fluid path leak free and allows quick access to the ball checks and fluid caps.
| Maximum flow rate | 172GPM(651LPM) |
|---|---|
| Maximum operating pressure | 120psi(8.3bar) |
| Suspended solids max diameter | 1/4"(6.4mm) |
| Fluid inlet | 2"BSPT Or 2"NPT |
| Fluid outlet | 2"BSPT Or 2"NPT |
The WA Series is a separate platform from DP3X. It shares performance but not design. This pump is built for material choice, not for the latest air end innovation.
Aluminum is light and good for non-corrosive liquids. Cast iron handles abrasion and is heavier. Stainless steel resists corrosion and is used in chemical and pharmaceutical service. The body material is selected in the model code, not fixed at the factory.
The pump can be run dry or dead headed against a closed valve. No priming is needed, and no damage occurs to the diaphragms or valves. This is the main reason plants use AODD over centrifugal pumps.
The air end is self lubricating and lube free. No oiler is fitted, so there is no oil mist in the exhaust and no maintenance task to check the oil level.
The fluid caps and ball checks are accessible from the top. The bolted construction allows quick disassembly without tools, so repairs take less time than on a welded pump.
The fluid path is sealed with bolts, not welds. This design prevents stress cracking and allows the pump to handle shear sensitive materials without degradation.
Port positions, foot spacing and overall envelope are compatible with major AODD brands. The base, pipe spools and air line usually stay the same when replacing a competitor pump.
The 2 inch WA Series is chosen when the plant needs a metallic pump with a proven body material choice, but does not require the latest air end design.
Every enquiry for this model starts with a pump that failed at one of these five points.
Self priming with 8.3 m of dry suction lift, so it empties a road tanker or a drum bank from ground level without a foot valve.
Air throttling gives smooth flow control from a trickle to 651 LPM without a variable speed drive, which suits recipe dosing into a mixer.
The pump can be dead headed as the cake builds and the pressure rises, then restart when the press is stripped.
One person carries it to the pit, drops the suction hose in and runs it dry at the end without burning anything out.
The WA Series uses a different air end platform than DP3X. It is not the same as the current generation design.
The air distribution system is designed to shift the major valve cleanly and fully, so the pump does not stall at mid stroke under load.
No lubricator is fitted to the air inlet. The system runs on compressed air alone, so there is no oil mist and no maintenance task.
The fluid caps and center body are bolted together. This design avoids welds, reduces stress, and allows quick access for maintenance.
Port positions, foot spacing and overall envelope follow the major brands, so this pump can be dropped into an existing installation.
The center body, fluid caps and manifold are each chosen in the model code. The diaphragm and ball check materials are also selected in the code.
The WA Series does not have a vacuum chamber to reduce discharge air pressure. The sound level is higher than on the DP3X series.

Performance figures are transcribed from the Nuodean data sheet for this pump. Flow is measured at the pump discharge with water at ambient temperature; your duty point depends on air supply pressure, suction conditions, fluid viscosity and discharge head. Ask our engineers to confirm the duty point before you order.
Where this pump wins and where you should be buying something else.
| Versus the 2 inch aluminum DP3X pump | Same 651 LPM and same 8.3 bar, but the WA Series is heavier at 29.6 kg and has a different air end. Choose DP3X for the latest air end design and lower sound level. |
|---|---|
| Versus the 2 inch cast iron DP3X pump | The DP3X cast iron version at 56.4 kg is lighter than the WA Series cast iron at 58.9 kg. Choose DP3X if weight and portability matter more than body material choice. |
| Versus the 2 inch plastic WA pump | The plastic WA pump handles acids and alkalis that attack aluminum, at a lower 548.8 LPM. Choose plastic when the fluid is corrosive and the flow is not the main concern. |
| Versus the 2 inch stainless steel WA pump | The stainless steel version is the choice for chemical and pharmaceutical service. The aluminum version is for non-corrosive fluids and portability. |
| Versus the 3 inch WA metallic pump | The 3 inch reaches 897 LPM and passes 9.5 mm solids, but weighs 49.8 kg (aluminum). Step up only when 651 LPM is genuinely not enough. |
| Versus the 2 inch non metallic AODD pump | The non metallic pump handles aggressive chemicals that eat metal, but at a lower flow. Choose non metallic on chemistry, not on flow. |
Five things that decide whether this pump does 651 LPM or half of it.
Flow follows air. Use the full 3/4 inch inlet, keep the hose short and confirm the compressor can hold pressure at the flow the pump asks for.
Throttle the discharge or the air, never the suction. Starving the suction is what causes cavitation, hard running and short diaphragm life.
Diaphragm and ball material is chosen in the model code. Get the chemistry right and the pump lasts. Get it wrong and nothing else you do will save it.
The published 8.3 m is a dry lift figure on the data sheet. Priming a flooded suction is always easier, so put the pump below the tank where the layout allows.
One air section kit, WA66625X-Air, and one fluid section kit, WA66625X-Flu, coded for your diaphragm and ball material. Between them they cover almost every wear part.

172 GPM, which is 651 LPM, is the maximum with a free discharge and full air supply. Real duty points are lower. Send us the discharge head and the air pressure you can hold and we will tell you where on the curve you land.
Yes. An air operated double diaphragm pump can be run dry and can be dead headed against a closed valve without damage. That is the main reason plants choose one over a centrifugal pump.
1/4 inch, which is 6.4 mm, on the suspended solids figure from the data sheet. If your fluid carries bigger solids, look at the 3 inch models at 9.5 mm or the heavy duty flap valve pump at 50 mm.
Usually yes. The WA Series pumps are built so that installation dimensions and footprint are compatible with other brands. Send a photo of the nameplate and the pipework and we will confirm before you buy.
PTFE with a Santoprene backing for aggressive solvents and acids, Santoprene for general duty and long flex life, Viton for hot oils and aromatics, nitrile for petroleum products. Tell us the fluid and the temperature and we will put the right code on the quotation.
85.3 dB(A) at 70 psi and 60 cycles per minute, as printed on the data sheet. Slower cycling is quieter, and a piped exhaust takes more off.
Fluid inlet and outlet are 2 inch BSPT or 2 inch NPT. The air inlet is 3/4 inch BSPT female, with 3/4 inch NPT available on request.

Buying GuideSizing an air diaphragm pump from the existing pipe size or the headline maximum flow guarantees poor performance. Here is how to select the right displacement and port size from actual duty conditions.
Material GuideDiaphragm selection is a balance between mechanical flex life and chemical compatibility. Pick the right material to avoid premature failures and process contamination.
