Why Compatibility Is A Specification And Not A Slogan

Nuodean designed the DP3X series so that installation dimensions and footprint are compatible with other brands. That is on the front page of the data sheets because it is the constraint every replacement enquiry runs into. If the port centers, the foot spacing and the air inlet position match, the change becomes a two hour job rather than a project.

What You Should Get Out Of A Replacement

  • The existing base plate and mounting bolts stay where they are
  • The suction and discharge spools bolt straight back on, in NPT or BSP as you already have
  • The air line reconnects at the same 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch BSPT inlet, NPT on request
  • Performance is checked against the pump you are removing, not assumed
  • Wetted materials are matched to the fluid rather than copied from the old nameplate
  • Repair kits are quoted at the same time, so the new pump arrives with its spares

Step By Step

How A Cross Reference Actually Runs

Four steps, and none of them need you to take the old pump apart first.

  1. Send The Nameplate And Two Photos

    Problem. Model codes across brands do not translate, and a code alone hides the material build and the connection thread.

    How we solve it. A photo of the nameplate plus one of the pump in place tells us the size, the body material, the thread type and how the pipework arrives. That is enough to start.

  2. Match The Duty Not The Model

    Problem. The pump you have may have been oversized for the duty years ago, so copying it copies the mistake.

    How we solve it. We compare your real flow and discharge head against our published data sheets. Sometimes the right answer is a smaller pump that uses less air.

  3. Fix The Wetted Materials

    Problem. The old pump may be surviving on the wrong elastomer and getting replaced twice a year because of it.

    How we solve it. We set body, seat, ball and diaphragm material against the fluid, so the replacement lasts longer than the pump it replaces.

  4. Confirm Fit Before You Buy

    Problem. Finding out about a fifteen millimetre difference during a shutdown is the worst possible time.

    How we solve it. We send the dimensions from the data sheet and drawing against your measurements, in writing, before the order goes in.

Drop In Replacement And Retrofit FAQ

Which brands can Nuodean pumps replace?

The DP3X data sheets state that installation dimensions and footprint are compatible with other brands. Rather than promise a brand list, send us the nameplate and the measurements and we will confirm the specific pump in writing.

Do I need to change the pipework threads?

Usually not. Fluid connections are ordered as NPT or BSP threads in the model code, so we build the pump to match what your spools already have.

Will the new pump use the same amount of air?

Air consumption depends on the duty point rather than the badge. If your compressor is already marginal, tell us and we will look at whether a different size gets you the same flow for less air.

Can you match a pump that has no readable nameplate?

Yes. Measure the port centers, the port size, the foot spacing and the overall height, and photograph the air inlet side. That is normally enough to identify the size and pick the match.

What about the spare parts I already hold?

Old kits will not fit a new pump, so plan on writing them off or keeping them until the old pump is fully retired. We quote the matching Nuodean air section and fluid section kits with the replacement.
