The ZG Series is a mid-sized air operated double diaphragm pump for general industrial transfer, batching and system circulation. It handles flows from 57 LPM at 1/2 inch up to 378 LPM at 1.5 inch, with operating pressure up to 8.4 bar at 1 inch and 1.5 inch. The pump is available in aluminum, stainless steel or plastic (PP or PVDF) body materials. It passes suspended solids up to 4.8 mm at 1.5 inch. The model code is ZG25AL-XX-XX-X or ZG40AL-XX-XX, depending on size and material. The data sheet is the source for performance and configuration.
| Maximum flow rate | 57 LPM at 1/2 and 3/4 inch, 150 LPM at 1 inch, 378 LPM at 1.5 inch |
|---|---|
| Maximum operating pressure | 7 bar at 1/2 and 3/4 inch, 8.4bar at 1 inch and 1.5 inch |
| Suspended solids max diameter | 2.5mm at 1/2 and 3/4 inch, 3.2mm at 1 inch, 4.8mm at 1.5 inch |
| Air inlet | 3/8"BSPT/NPT on the smallest models, 3/4"BSPT/NPT from 1 inch up |
| Model series code | ZG25AL-XX-XX-X, ZG40AL-XX-XX, ZG25PP(KY)-XX-X |
The ZG series is a mid-range AODD pump with standard air end design and no special features beyond the published performance.
Choose aluminum for general duty and low weight, stainless steel for corrosion resistance, or plastic (PP or PVDF) for acids and alkalis. The material is set in the model code.
The air end is built to standard AODD design. It has no pilot valve, no vacuum chamber, no self-lubricating system, and no anti-icing features. Performance is as published in the data sheet.
The pump does not need a lubricator on the air line. The air system is designed to run without oil, so there is no oil mist in the exhaust.
The air inlet is 3/8 inch or 3/4 inch BSPT/NPT depending on size. Fluid connections are standard threaded ports. The pump fits into standard skid and pipe layouts.
Like all AODD pumps, it can be run dry or dead headed against a closed valve. No damage occurs to the pump from these conditions.
All performance and configuration details come from the published data sheet. The model code is the only way to specify the wetted materials and connection types.
The ZG series is used when a mid-range flow and pressure AODD pump is needed, and the fluid does not require special materials or high solids handling.
This pump is chosen when a standard AODD is needed for mid-flow duty, and the plant does not need high pressure, high solids or special materials.
The pump runs dry and dead headed, so it can be used to flush lines or circulate fluid through a filter without damage.
Air throttling gives smooth flow control from a trickle to 378 LPM, which suits recipe dosing into a mixer.
The pump moves liquids between tanks, including those with low levels, because it self primes and runs dry.
The pump handles water-based coolants and cleaning agents, with the option to use stainless steel or plastic for corrosion resistance.
The ZG series uses a standard air operated double diaphragm design with no patented features.
The air end is built to standard AODD principles. It has no pilot valve, no vacuum chamber, no self-lubricating system, and no anti-icing features.
The pump uses standard ceramic or elastomer seals and ball checks. No dual dynamic seals or special valve designs are used.
The air inlet does not require a lubricator. The system runs dry and clean, with no oil mist in the exhaust.
Fluid connections are threaded in BSPT or NPT. Air inlet is 3/8 inch or 3/4 inch depending on size. No special fittings are used.
The installation envelope is not designed to match other brands. The footprint and port positions are specific to the ZG series.
The body, fluid caps and connections are chosen in the model code. Aluminum, stainless steel or plastic (PP or PVDF) are available.

Performance figures are transcribed from the Nuodean data sheet for this pump. Flow is measured at the pump discharge with water at ambient temperature; your duty point depends on air supply pressure, suction conditions, fluid viscosity and discharge head. Ask our engineers to confirm the duty point before you order.
Where this pump wins and where you should be buying something else.
| Versus the 1 inch triple diaphragm pump | The triple pump gives 133 LPM at 7 bar for high pressure spraying and long lines. The ZG gives 150 LPM at 8.4 bar, but only for standard transfer. Choose the triple pump for pressure, not flow. |
|---|---|
| Versus the 1.5 inch heavy duty flap-valve pump | The flap-valve pump passes 50 mm solids and handles abrasive slurry. The ZG passes only 4.8 mm solids. Choose the flap-valve pump for large solids, not for general transfer. |
| Versus the 1.5 inch 2:1 high pressure triple diaphragm pump | The triple pump gives 340.7 LPM at 7 bar for high pressure duty. The ZG gives 378 LPM at 8.4 bar, but only at lower pressure. Choose the triple pump for pressure, not for flow. |
| Versus the 1.5 inch DP3X aluminum pump | The DP3X gives 647 LPM at 8.3 bar and passes 9.5 mm solids. The ZG gives 378 LPM at 8.4 bar and passes 4.8 mm solids. Choose the DP3X for higher flow and solids handling. |
| Versus the 1.5 inch non-metallic pump | The non-metallic pump handles acids and alkalis that would attack aluminum. The ZG offers PP and PVDF for similar chemistry. Choose the non-metallic pump only if the fluid is highly aggressive. |
| Versus a centrifugal pump | The centrifugal is cheaper to run at high flow with clean fluid. The ZG wins when the tank runs dry, the line blocks, the fluid carries solids or the area cannot take a motor. |
Five things that decide whether this pump does 378 LPM or less.
Flow follows air. Use the full 3/4 inch inlet, keep the hose short and confirm the compressor can hold pressure at the flow the pump asks for.
Throttle the discharge or the air, never the suction. Starving the suction causes cavitation, hard running and short diaphragm life.
Diaphragm and ball material is chosen in the model code. Get the chemistry right and the pump lasts. Get it wrong and nothing else you do will save it.
The published flow is at flooded suction. Priming a dry lift is harder, so put the pump below the tank where the layout allows.
The fluid section kit, ZG-Flu50, is coded for your diaphragm and ball material. It covers the main wear parts.

57 LPM at 1/2 inch, 150 LPM at 1 inch, and 378 LPM at 1.5 inch are the maximum values with full air supply and free discharge. Real duty points are lower. Send us the air pressure and discharge head and we will tell you where on the curve you land.
Yes. An air operated double diaphragm pump can be run dry and can be dead headed against a closed valve without damage. That is the main reason plants choose one over a centrifugal pump.
4.8 mm at 1.5 inch, as published in the data sheet. If your fluid carries bigger solids, look at the 1.5 inch heavy duty flap-valve pump at 50 mm.
Not necessarily. The ZG series is not designed to match other brands' installation dimensions. The footprint and port positions are specific to the ZG series. Send a photo of the nameplate and the pipework and we will confirm if it fits.
PTFE with Santoprene backing for aggressive solvents and acids, Santoprene for general duty and long flex life, Viton for hot oils and aromatics, nitrile for petroleum products. Tell us the fluid and the temperature and we will put the right code on the quotation.
The sound level is not published. The pump uses a standard air end with no noise reduction features. Slower cycling is quieter, and a piped exhaust takes more off.
Fluid connections are 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch or 1.5 inch BSPT or NPT. Air inlet is 3/8 inch or 3/4 inch BSPT/NPT depending on size. The exact type is in the model code.
