Nickel / Nickel Alloy Tube

Monel, Inconel, Incoloy and Hastelloy grade seamless tube for the hardest corrosion duty

Overview

What Nickel / Nickel Alloy Tube Is

When a stream is too hot, too reducing or too aggressive for stainless or duplex, the tube moves to a nickel base alloy.

The grades we supply cover the usual industrial choices: Monel 400 for hydrofluoric and seawater service, Inconel 600 and 625 for high temperature and mixed acid, Incoloy 800H and 825 for furnace and sulphuric duty, Hastelloy C276 for reducing and oxidising media in the same line.

Tube is produced to the ASTM B series specifications and, for casing and tubing stock, to API 5CRA / ISO 13680.

Key Benefits

Why Engineers Specify It

Full nickel grade coverage in one order

From commercially pure Nickel 200 through Monel, Inconel, Incoloy and Hastelloy to Alloy 20, 28, 31 and G series.

Specification led production

Each grade is produced to its own B series standard rather than a generic tube spec.

Corrosion resistant alloy casing stock

API 5CRA / ISO 13680 material for casing, tubing and coupling stock in oil and gas wells.

Same sizes as our stainless tube

12 mm to 76.2 mm tube and pipe to 168.3 mm keeps bundle design consistent across alloy choices.

Who It Is For

Buyers Who Come to Us for This Tube

Sour service oil and gas operators

Corrosion resistant alloy tubulars to API 5CRA / ISO 13680.

Acid plant and fertiliser contractors

Sulphuric, phosphoric and mixed acid duty where stainless fails.

High temperature process plant builders

Furnace and reformer service that needs Incoloy 800H or Inconel 617.

Problems It Solves

What Goes Wrong Without It

Reducing acid attacking stainless tube

Hastelloy B2, B3 and C276 are specified for reducing media where chromium alloys are not enough.

Creep and oxidation at furnace temperature

Incoloy 800H, Inconel 601, 617 and 625 are supplied for high temperature strength.

Seawater and hydrofluoric service

Monel 400 and K500 remain the reference grades for this duty.

Manufacturing Process

How It Is Made

Melting route controlAlloy is sourced to the grade's own chemistry limits before tube making starts.
Hot extrusion and cold workNickel alloys are worked in tighter temperature windows than stainless.
Solution or stabilising annealHeat treatment is chosen per grade and per specification.
TestingHydrostatic, eddy current, chemical analysis and mechanical testing to the applicable B series standard.

Quality Control

Inspection and Certification

Every tube passes eddy current and hydrostatic testing, with tensile, flattening, flaring, hardness and chemical analysis carried out on our own equipment. Fin pitch, fin height and finned length are verified as dimensional items in their own right.

The company holds ISO 9001:2015, CE certificate, Production licence for pressure pipe.

Customization

What Can Be Changed

  • Base tube material and wall thickness within the range above
  • Fin material, fin pitch and fin height to the bundle design
  • Finned length and bare end length for the tubesheet joint
  • Marking, packing and certificate scope for the destination market
Comparison

Compared With the Alternatives

Nickel alloys cost several times more per metre than stainless or duplex, so they are specified where the service data leaves no alternative: reducing acids, high temperature creep, hydrofluoric or high velocity seawater. For chloride cracking alone, duplex is usually the economic answer.

Use Guide

  • Send the full stream composition, temperature and velocity - nickel grade selection is driven by the medium, not by a general corrosion class.
  • Name the specification (for example B163 against B622) because test and heat treatment requirements differ.
  • For oil and gas tubulars, state the API 5CRA / ISO 13680 requirements with the enquiry.
Quantities, lead time and packing are quoted against your drawing. Email [email protected] with the bundle data and we will confirm what the lines can hold.
