The DP32-40 is a 1-1/2 inch high pressure triple diaphragm pump in the Specialty series. It delivers up to 90 GPM at 7 bar fluid pressure, which is double the output of a standard AODD pump at the same air pressure. The 2:1 discharge ratio is achieved by applying air pressure to a larger surface area on the diaphragm, which forces the fluid diaphragm to move more fluid per stroke. It lifts 5.8 m dry and handles solids up to 6.4 mm. The pump is built for systems where 120 psi is not enough to overcome resistance, such as long lines, high elevation, or high viscosity fluids.
| Maximum flow rate | 90GPM (340.7LPM) |
|---|---|
| Maximum operating pressure | 100psi (7bar) |
| Fluid pressure range | 20-200psi (1.4-14bar) |
| Suspended solids max diameter | 1/4" (6.4mm) |
| Fluid inlet | 1-1/2"BSPT Or 1-1/2"NPT |
The triple diaphragm design is not about flow. It is about pressure, and the ratio is what makes it work.
The 2:1 ratio means the air side diaphragm area is twice the fluid side area. At 100 psi air input, the fluid side sees 200 psi output. This allows high pressure transfer without needing a larger air compressor.
Unlike single diaphragm pumps that lose flow as pressure rises, the triple diaphragm maintains near-constant output across the pressure range. This is useful in dosing, spraying and long line transfer.
When the system resistance exceeds 120 psi, a booster is usually required. This pump can meet that demand directly from a standard air supply.
At 50 kg, it is 40 kg lighter than the 2 inch triple diaphragm pump. That makes it easier to install and move between stations.
The 3/8 inch BSPT air inlet is standard on most plants. No special air fittings or regulators are needed to start.
The 6.4 mm solids pass through the ball check and seat. This is the same as the 2 inch model, so it handles grit and slurry in high pressure duty.
This pump is for plants that need pressure above 120 psi but cannot use a booster. It is not for general transfer. It is for systems where pressure is the real constraint.
Every order for this pump starts with a system that cannot deliver pressure at flow.
The pump maintains flow at 200 psi, so it can feed a mixing tank under pressure without a booster.
It delivers a steady stream of cleaning fluid or coating at 14 bar to a spray gun or nozzle.
It pushes viscous resin through a manifold at 14 bar, which is needed to fill small channels.
It can pressurize a line to 14 bar for testing, then flush it with a solvent without switching pumps.
The 2:1 ratio is not a trick. It is a mechanical advantage built into the air end.
The air diaphragm area is twice the fluid diaphragm area. When air pressure is applied, it forces the fluid diaphragm to move twice the volume per stroke.
Two air diaphragms are linked to a single actuator pin. They alternate to drive the fluid diaphragm, with the air pressure ratio dictating the fluid output.
The ball check and seat are sized to pass 6.4 mm solids. They are replaceable and match the model code.
No external lubricator is needed. The system is lube free and self lubricating, so no oil mist is produced.
The diaphragm, ball, seat and hardware are all selectable in the model code. Each is coded and listed on the data sheet.
The 3/8 inch BSPT air inlet and 3/4 inch BSPT exhaust are standard. The NPT version is available on request.

Performance figures are transcribed from the Nuodean data sheet for this pump. Flow is measured at the pump discharge with water at ambient temperature; your duty point depends on air supply pressure, suction conditions, fluid viscosity and discharge head. Ask our engineers to confirm the duty point before you order.
Where this pump wins and where you should be buying something else.
| Versus the 1 inch triple diaphragm pump | The 1 inch model gives 35 GPM at 7 bar. This 1-1/2 inch model gives 90 GPM at the same pressure. Choose the 1 inch only when flow is not the main need. |
|---|---|
| Versus the 2 inch triple diaphragm pump | The 2 inch model gives 172 GPM at 6.9 bar. This 1-1/2 inch model gives less flow but higher pressure. Choose the 2 inch when flow is the priority. |
| Versus the 1-1/2 inch ZG series pump | The ZG series gives 378 LPM at 8.4 bar. This pump gives less flow but higher pressure. Choose the ZG when volume is needed, not pressure. |
| Versus a standard 1-1/2 inch AODD pump | The standard pump maxes at 120 psi. This pump reaches 200 psi. Choose the standard pump when pressure is not an issue. |
| Versus a booster pump | The booster adds noise, electrical risk and maintenance. This pump runs on clean air and needs no power. Choose the booster only when pressure exceeds 200 psi. |
| Versus a centrifugal pump | The centrifugal is more efficient at high flow with clean fluid. This pump wins when pressure is high, flow is moderate, or the fluid is viscous. |
Five things that decide whether this pump hits 90 GPM or drops to 60.
The 2:1 ratio depends on air pressure. At 100 psi input, the fluid side reaches 200 psi. Lower air pressure reduces output.
The pump can be dead headed. But a blocked discharge at 200 psi will stress the system. Use a pressure relief valve if needed.
Nitrile for petroleum, PTFE/Santoprene for acids and solvents, Hytrel for high temperature and abrasion. Wrong material leads to failure.
Dirt in the air supply can jam the ball check or wear the seals. Use a filter and regulator on the air line.
If the system has a closed valve or high resistance, a relief valve prevents overpressure on the pump and the piping.

The fluid pressure range is 20 to 200 psi (1.4 to 14 bar). This is the output pressure at the fluid outlet. The air supply must not exceed 100 psi.
Yes. The pump can be run dry without damage. It is designed to handle dry starts and dead heading, which is common in high pressure systems.
1/4 inch, which is 6.4 mm, through the ball check and seat. If your fluid carries larger solids, the 3 inch flap-valve pump passes up to 50 mm.
Yes, in many cases. It delivers 200 psi from a 100 psi air supply, which is the same as a booster. It avoids electrical risk and needs no maintenance.
PTFE with Santoprene backing for aggressive chemicals, Santoprene for long life and flexibility, Hytrel for high temperature and abrasion. Tell us the fluid and temperature and we will suggest the right code.
88.0 dB(A) at 70 psi and 60 cycles per minute, as measured on the data sheet. Slower cycling or a muffler reduces the sound level.
Fluid inlet and outlet are 1-1/2 inch BSPT or 1-1/2 inch NPT. The air inlet is 3/8 inch BSPT. The NPT version is available on request.
