Fenix Fluorine-Free Backsheet

HD-CPC-NW

230°C without yellowing and 1000 kWh/m² UV without cracking — with no fluoropolymer in the construction.

Fluoropolymer backsheets are under pressure from two directions: end-of-life regulation that treats fluorine as a recycling problem, and corporate procurement policies that are removing it from bills of materials ahead of the regulation. The standard objection to fluorine-free alternatives is that they yellow and crack.

The Fenix construction is built to answer that objection with test data. A silicone / acrylic / polyester mixed outer coating holds 230°C without yellowing, stays stable long-term at 200°C, and resists cracking through 1000 kWh/m² of UV and 200 kWh/m² of combined UV damp-heat.

Why this one

  • Excellent heat resistanceWithstands temperatures up to 230°C without yellowing and maintains long-term stability at 200°C.
  • Superior weather resistanceResists cracking and yellowing under extreme UV exposure (1000 kWh/m²) and combined UV damp-heat conditions (200 kWh/m²).
  • No fluorine in the formulaAligning with sustainable and environmental goals, and with recyclable module design.
  • 303 µm ±10% construction10 µm silicone / acrylic / polyester mixed air coating, 288 µm PET middle layer, 5 µm high-reflectivity inner coating.

Questions about Fenix Fluorine-Free Backsheet

Why does 230°C heat resistance matter for a backsheet?

Lamination and any subsequent rework put the backsheet through high temperature, and heat resistance is where fluorine-free constructions have historically failed first.

Is the performance equivalent to a fluorinated backsheet?

On the published tests — 1000 kWh/m² UV, 200 kWh/m² damp-heat UV, 200°C long-term stability — it is specified to resist cracking and yellowing. Qualification against your own protocol is the usual next step.

What colour is it?

White.
