EPE – High Transmittance / High Cut-Off

HEPE1 / HEPE2

EVA's cost with POE's moisture barrier and PID resistance, in one co-extruded film.

TOPCon lines face a genuine dilemma at the encapsulant decision. Full POE on both sides is the reliability answer and hurts the bill of materials; EVA on both sides is affordable and leaves the cells exposed to moisture and PID.

EPE is the structural compromise that stopped being one: EVA skins for lamination behaviour and cost, a POE core for moisture barrier and PID resistance, co-extruded into a single film that runs on the equipment already in the line.

Why this one

  • Cost-effectiveness with PID and polarisation resistanceThe POE core carries the electrical reliability without POE's full cost.
  • Stable lamination performanceNo additive leaching or slipping, with excellent gas permeability during encapsulation.
  • Superior transmittance and ageing resistanceMaintained across the high-transmittance and high-cut-off variants.
  • Both glass-glass and glass-backsheetSuitable for PERC and TOPCon monocrystalline modules in either configuration, plus distributed and portable applications.

Questions about EPE – High Transmittance / High Cut-Off

What is the difference between the high-transmittance and high-cut-off grades?

High transmittance passes more of the short-wavelength light to the cell; high cut-off blocks more UV to protect the cell and backsheet. The choice follows the cell technology and the site's UV load.

Does EPE need different lamination settings than EVA?

It is formulated for stable lamination with good gas permeability. Process windows are confirmed against your specific laminator during qualification.

Can EPE be used on only one side?

Yes — a common configuration is EPE on the rear where moisture ingress matters and EVA on the front.
