Water Barrier Layer
Transparent water-blocking backsheets at 10⁻² to 10⁻³ g/m²·day.
Moisture ingress is the failure mode that ends most field warranties, and cell technologies are getting more sensitive to it, not less. These backsheets put a dedicated water-blocking layer into the stack and hold the water vapour transmission rate two to three orders of magnitude below a plain PET construction.
