The problem
What normally goes wrong here
At utility scale the only two numbers that matter are cost per watt and the shape of the degradation curve. A backsheet that adds 1–2% of annual yield or removes a sheet of rear glass changes both, and it has to do so without disturbing a fully automated lamination line running around the clock.
