Product Overview
If you have plastic parts that need to be machined or moulded we are one of the most capable and affordable sources. Compared with metal, plastic materials offer lower cost, light weight, good corrosion resistance and good heat insulating performance.
PTFE, also called Teflon, offers good high temperature resistance, good corrosion resistance, high lubrication, non-hazardous handling and electrical insulation. PC (polycarbonate) is a strong thermoplastic resin with good mechanical properties, high transparency, freedom of dyeing, and good aging and heat resistance. Nylon has high mechanical strength, a high softening point, good heat resistance, a low friction coefficient, good wear resistance, good electrical insulation, self extinguishing behaviour, and is non-toxic, odourless and weather resistant. Adding glass fibre roughly doubles its tensile strength. ABS is the most widely used polymer, with good impact resistance, heat resistance, low temperature resistance, chemical resistance and electrical properties, and it machines easily. Acrylic (PMMA) offers good transparency, chemical stability and weather resistance, is easy to dye and process, and looks good.
Key Benefits
Light Weight
A fraction of the mass of an equivalent metal part, which matters in handheld and moving assemblies.
Corrosion Resistance
No plating required in chemically aggressive environments where metal would need protection.
Electrical And Thermal Insulation
PTFE and nylon are used precisely because they do not conduct.
Lower Material Cost
Cheaper than metal per part, provided the polymer suits the load and temperature.
Applications and Who It Is For
- Construction components
- Automotive interior and under bonnet parts
- Industrial machine components
- Medical device parts
- Transportation components
- Electronic insulators and housings
If your application is not on this list, send the drawing anyway. A good part of our work arrives as something another shop declined to quote.

Manufacturing Process and Quality Control
Drawing Review
Our engineers review manufacturability, confirm tolerances and raise anything in the drawing that would cause a problem before production starts.
Free Sample
Free samples are available before mass production, with first piece inspection recorded against your drawing.
Production Control
In-process inspection at a set frequency during the run, using the coordinate measuring machine and gauges in our inspection room.
Surface Treatment
Anodizing, sand blasting, polishing, electroplating and powder coating applied in house after deburring and cleaning.
Final Inspection
The finished lot is checked against the drawing before packing, with certification issued for the stages you require.
Packing and Delivery
Protective packing appropriate to the part, dispatched within the agreed delivery date.
Customization Options
- Material — specify a grade from our catalog, or describe the function and our engineers will recommend one.
- Tolerance — standard machining tolerance is 0.005 to 0.01 mm; tighter callouts are discussed at quotation.
- Surface finish — anodized, sand blasted, polished, electroplated, powder coated or as machined.
- Marking — CNC engraving and laser engraving for part numbers and logos.
- Quantity — from a single prototype through to long production contracts.
- Certification — certification provided at every stage on request.

Product FAQ
Which plastic for a transparent part?
Polycarbonate where impact strength matters, acrylic where optical clarity and appearance matter. Acrylic is more brittle, so the choice depends on how the part is handled.
Do machined plastics hold tight tolerances?
Tighter than most people expect, but plastics move with temperature and humidity more than metals do. Tell us the working environment so tolerances are set realistically.
Can nylon be strengthened?
Yes, adding glass fibre roughly doubles the tensile strength of nylon, at the cost of some toughness and increased tool wear.
How do I order this part?
Do you offer free samples?
Yes, free samples are available before mass production so you can confirm the part before committing to a run.
