Product Overview
If you have brass parts that need to be machined we are one of the most capable and affordable sources, and we can get the job done right.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. When it is composed of copper and zinc alone it is called ordinary brass, and when other elements are added it is known as special brass. The alloying choice changes strength, corrosion resistance and how quickly the material cuts, which is why the same drawing can carry very different piece prices depending on the grade specified.
Brass has wide usage. It is made into water tanks, drainage pipes, medals, bellows, snake tube, condensers, shells and a variety of complex shaped products. Our copper alloy catalog covers C3601, C3602, C3604, C5441, C17300, C2700 and C97.
Key Benefits
Fast Machining
Brass cuts quickly with excellent surface finish, which keeps cycle times and piece prices low.
Corrosion Resistance In Water
The reason water tanks, drainage pipes and condensers are traditionally brass.
Good Sealing Behaviour
Brass seats and threads seal reliably in fluid fittings and valve components.
Takes Plating and Polishing
Brass finishes well, which suits decorative hardware as well as functional parts.
Applications and Who It Is For
- Water tanks and drainage pipes
- Condensers and heat exchange components
- Bellows and flexible tube fittings
- Medals, badges and decorative hardware
- Electrical contacts and connector bodies
- Complex shaped turned components
If your application is not on this list, send the drawing anyway. A good part of our work arrives as something another shop declined to quote.

Manufacturing Process and Quality Control
Drawing Review
Our engineers review manufacturability, confirm tolerances and raise anything in the drawing that would cause a problem before production starts.
Free Sample
Free samples are available before mass production, with first piece inspection recorded against your drawing.
Production Control
In-process inspection at a set frequency during the run, using the coordinate measuring machine and gauges in our inspection room.
Surface Treatment
Anodizing, sand blasting, polishing, electroplating and powder coating applied in house after deburring and cleaning.
Final Inspection
The finished lot is checked against the drawing before packing, with certification issued for the stages you require.
Packing and Delivery
Protective packing appropriate to the part, dispatched within the agreed delivery date.
Customization Options
- Material — specify a grade from our catalog, or describe the function and our engineers will recommend one.
- Tolerance — standard machining tolerance is 0.005 to 0.01 mm; tighter callouts are discussed at quotation.
- Surface finish — anodized, sand blasted, polished, electroplated, powder coated or as machined.
- Marking — CNC engraving and laser engraving for part numbers and logos.
- Quantity — from a single prototype through to long production contracts.
- Certification — certification provided at every stage on request.

Product FAQ
Why is brass used for plumbing and valve parts?
It machines quickly, resists corrosion in water and seals well, which is why water tanks, drainage pipes and condensers are common brass applications.
What is the difference between ordinary and special brass?
Ordinary brass is copper and zinc only. Special brass contains additional alloying elements that change strength, corrosion resistance or machinability.
Can brass parts be plated?
Yes, brass takes electroplating and polishing well, which is why it is common in decorative hardware as well as functional components.
How do I order this part?
Do you offer free samples?
Yes, free samples are available before mass production so you can confirm the part before committing to a run.
