CNC Milling

CNC milling is cost effective for short runs, and complex shapes with high dimensional tolerances and smooth finishes are possible.

CNC milling can produce almost any 2D or 3D shape provided the rotating cutting tools can reach the material to be removed. Typical parts include engine components, mould tooling, complex mechanisms and enclosures.

Meet Our Machines

Eight Okuma MA-40HA HMCs

Horizontal machining centres carrying the larger scale and higher volume milling work, where chip evacuation and multi face indexing matter.

Four Fadal 4020 VMCs

Vertical machining centres for detailed vertical operations, smaller batches and jobs that change often.

One Okuma Genos M460-VE VMC

Equipped with chip removal systems and automatic tool changers for longer unattended cycles on repeat work.

Problems Solved

What Milling Solves For Buyers

  • Complex geometry in one part. Pockets, bosses, slots and holes on several faces without an assembly of simpler pieces.
  • Short run economics. No tooling investment, so a run of fifty parts is viable when casting or moulding would not be.
  • Design iteration. A revision is a programme change rather than a new tool, so a corrected prototype takes days.
  • Finish quality. Smooth machined faces that need no secondary work before assembly or plating.

CNC Milling FAQ

What size parts can you mill?

2 mm to 1000 mm diameter, with tolerance held at +/-0.005 mm.

Is milling cost effective for small quantities?

Yes. Milling is particularly cost effective for short runs because there is no tooling to amortise, only programming and setup.

Horizontal or vertical machining for my part?

That depends on part size, the number of faces to be machined and quantity. Larger scale work generally goes to the Okuma horizontal machining centres and detailed vertical operations to the vertical machining centres.

Can I get a sample before mass production?

Yes, samples are available before mass production, and OEM and ODM work is welcomed.
