How It Compares With the Alternatives
A TTO ribbon is not the same product as a desktop barcode ribbon. It runs at higher speed on a narrow print head mounted on the packaging line, comes in long 600 m lengths on a 25 mm core, and is formulated to print on film rather than on a label. Wax resin suits most food packaging films; choose the resin grade where the code faces solvents, heat or heavy abrasion.

Getting It Right on the First Roll
Match the ribbon width to the print head, 33 mm or 55 mm on most intermittent and continuous TTO printers.
Confirm the ink side against the machine before ordering; TTO printers are not tolerant of a reversed ribbon.
Choose wax resin for standard food packaging film and resin where the code faces solvent or heat.
Keep the ribbon sealed until loading; dust on the ribbon surface shows up as voids in a date code.
