What This Product Does Better
Bonds to film, not just to paper
Resin is the only ink system that anchors properly to PET, PVC, PE and PP. On those substrates it is not an upgrade, it is the requirement.
Holds through solvent and abrasion
Chemical drums, cable markers and component labels get wiped, rubbed and exposed. A resin print stays readable where a wax print is gone in a week.
Prints paper too
The same ribbon also runs on semi-gloss coated paper, so a plant with mixed substrates can standardise on one ribbon rather than stocking three.
Built to the printer, not to a catalogue
Width, length, core and ink side are all set at slitting, which means the roll threads and runs on the machine you actually own.

How It Compares With the Alternatives
Wax is for paper, wax resin is for coated and synthetic paper, and resin is for film. Resin costs the most per metre and prints slowest of the three, and on plain paper labels it is money spent on durability the label will never need. Getting It Right on the First Roll
Select the ribbon from the label material first: paper takes wax, PP or glossy paper takes wax resin, PET and PVC take resin.
Reduce print speed and raise head energy slightly compared with wax; resin needs more heat to transfer cleanly.
Check ink side and core against the printer; a near-edge printer needs a near-edge ribbon, not a flat-head one.
Run a tape and a solvent rub test on the first labels before releasing the batch.

Any size, and square, rectangle, round or oval dies. Ribbons are slit from 30 mm to 110 mm and 30 m to 900 m.

Which label materials does a resin ribbon suit?
Semi-gloss coated paper, PET, PVC, PE and PP. If the label is a film, resin is the correct choice; if it is plain paper, a wax ribbon does the same job for less.
How do I choose between wax, wax resin and resin?
By substrate. Print on a paper label, choose wax. Print on a PP label or a glossy paper label, choose wax resin. Print on PET or PVC, choose resin.
What does the printer decide?
Three things: the maximum ribbon width and length it accepts, whether the ink side must be in or out, and whether it takes a flat head or a near edge ribbon.
