A dark image that scanners read first time
75 gsm thermal facestock with a high sensitivity coating gives a dense black image, which matters when the label is scanned wet, at an angle, or through shrink wrap.

How It Compares With the Alternatives
Against a thermal transfer 4 x 6 label, this direct thermal roll removes the ribbon cost and the ribbon change, at the price of a shorter image life and sensitivity to prolonged heat. For a parcel that is scanned within days that trade is worth making. For an asset label that has to be readable in five years, use a thermal transfer facestock with a resin ribbon instead.

Getting It Right on the First Roll
Set the printer to direct thermal mode, then calibrate on the gap so the 4 x 6 pitch is learned.
Choose a 3 in core for industrial printers and a 1 in core for desktop units; the roll diameter follows from the piece count.
Keep unused rolls in the shrink wrap until needed; heat, sunlight and solvent vapour all age the thermal coating.
Apply above 10 degrees C and press the label down across its full area, not just the leading edge.

Which exact sizes do you hold?
4 x 6 in (102x152 mm), 100x150 mm, 100x100 mm, 100x80 mm and 104x159 mm are the common shipping sizes, with 2 x 1 in, 50x25 mm and 60x40 mm available for smaller items. Any size can be cut to order.
How many labels per roll, and how are they packed?
220 to 2,000 pieces per roll depending on core and diameter. Standard export packing is 2 rolls per shrink wrap and 8, 12 or 18 rolls per carton, with OEM colour and logo available on label or carton.
Which adhesive is used?
A permanent adhesive, in either hot melt or acrylic. Hot melt gives higher initial tack on corrugated board; acrylic holds up better over a long service life and a wider temperature range.
What service temperature does the label hold?
-20 to +70 degrees C, so parcels moving between a cold store and a hot transit hub stay labelled.
Can we print colour on the label as well?
Yes. Colour printing is available on this stock, so a carrier block, a brand strip or a returns instruction can be pre-printed and the variable barcode area left blank for the thermal head.
