Glare is a geometry problem, not a diffuser problem. The reflector depth and finish decide whether a guest sees the light or the source.
The commercial ranges use a deep-set reflector so the LED sits well above the aperture plane. Gun black and matte black reflector finishes absorb the stray light that a bright reflector would throw back out at a shallow angle.
A diffuser removes glare by removing the beam. For accent lighting that defeats the purpose — the contrast between the lit product and its surround is the entire effect. Controlling the cut-off angle keeps the contrast and loses the glare.
From 5° to 60° across the catalogue. The narrow end exists because tall ceilings need it: a 5° beam from an 8 W fitting will still read as a defined pool at 6 m, where a 38° beam from the same fitting will not.
