The single decision that changes a retail ceiling more than wattage does.
Beam angle and mounting height together decide the diameter of the lit pool. A 24° beam produces a pool roughly 0.42 × the throw distance across; a 36° beam is roughly 0.65 ×; a 50° beam roughly 0.93 ×. At a 3 m throw those are about 1.3 m, 2.0 m and 2.8 m. Pick the angle that makes the pool match the object, then pick the wattage.
5°–10° is a pinspot: a single object, a tall ceiling, a display case. 15°–24° is the display band, the workhorse of retail and hospitality. 36°–38° washes a wall or a table. 50°–60° is general illumination and behaves like a downlight.
A well-lit shop usually runs two angles: a narrow one on the merchandise and a wider one on circulation. Keeping both on the same fitting family means the apertures match even though the light does not.
On the YY710 platform a single Ø55 mm housing is available at 5°, 8°, 10°, 15°, 24°, 38° and 50°. For a chain roll-out that means one ceiling detail, one installation drawing and one spare-parts line, with the beam decided per store.
