Hebei Fresh Pears Shine in Chile

On 15 December the first batch of Hebei fresh pears exported to Chile made its supermarket debut there. Fan Guang'en, Deputy General Manager of Hebei Jinzhou Great Wall Economic & Trade Co., Ltd., was invited to Chile to observe and to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the launch of Hebei fresh pears in the country. To mark the occasion, the large supermarket chain Jumbo held a major promotion in the Chilean capital Santiago that day, and several Chilean media outlets reported on it.

Hebei Jinzhou Great Wall Economic & Trade Co., Ltd. is one of the member enterprises of Hebei Choice Fruit Alliance. Established in 2000, it is a national-level key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialisation that has focused on the fresh pear industry for 17 years and has since grown into a group company. Great Wall holds international certificates including GAP, HACCP and BRC, and is a famous-brand Hebei fresh pear product of China.

The company is not only the first supplier of fresh pears exported to Chile; it also passed a very strict joint China–Australia official pre-inspection and became the first enterprise to export Ya pears and Asian pears to Australia. Through continued effort it also passed China–Australia and China–Canada official audits, becoming the first enterprise in Hebei Province qualified to export Fuji apples to Australia and Canada. Rooted in the countryside and serving farmers, the company works from the source: improving growing methods, raising fruit quality and safeguarding fruit safety. Its fresh pear bases have introduced Huangguan pear seedlings, promoted bagging techniques, low-toxicity pesticides and integrated IPM control measures, achieving traceability management for high-end markets.
