Variable Frequency Drive
AD1000-AFE Four-Quadrant Inverter
An active front end that feeds braking energy back to the grid at a power factor close to 1, for the elevators, cranes and high-inertia loads that brake constantly.

AD1000-AFE Four-Quadrant Vector Inverter adopts PWM-controlled IGBT rectification technology to achieve bidirectional control of rectification and energy feedback. With a power factor close to 1, it enables true four-quadrant operation. This series of inverters can feed back the inertial energy of the load to the power grid, and is equipped with regenerative function and braking function. It is suitable for potential energy loads requiring energy regeneration, energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as large-inertia loads requiring rapid deceleration

Problems it solves
Why this model gets specified
Braking resistors turn recovered energy into heat and a cooling problem. AD1000-AFE feeds the inertial energy of the load back to the grid instead.
Frequent braking cycles overheat conventional drives. True four-quadrant operation makes repeated braking a normal duty rather than a limit.
Reactive power draws penalties on industrial tariffs. PWM IGBT rectification holds the power factor close to 1.
Who it is for: Engineers specifying drives for elevators, cranes, hoists and other potential-energy or large-inertia loads up to 710 kW.
Key benefits
PWM IGBT Rectification
Bidirectional control, rectification + energy feedback
Power Factor ≈ 1
No reactive penalty, high efficiency and energy saving
True four-quadrant
Worry-free frequent braking, braking + regenerative function
Energy Regeneration
Inertial energy is fed back to the grid, 100% energy recovery
Rapid Deceleration
Expert for large inertial loads, first choice for elevators/cranes
Applicable Scenarios
Potential energy + large inertial loads, energy-saving and environmentally friendly applications

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the voltage and power range?
380 V ±15%, from 0.75 kW to 710 kW.
How does the energy feedback work?
PWM-controlled IGBT rectification gives bidirectional control of rectification and energy feedback, returning the load's inertial energy to the grid.
Is a braking resistor still required?
The drive combines regenerative and braking functions for four-quadrant operation; confirm the braking arrangement for your specific duty cycle with Boray.
What is the output frequency range?
0.1 Hz to 400 Hz.
What analog and digital I/O is available?
Two analog inputs (AI1/AI2, 0–10 V or 0–20 mA DC), an AI3 input at -10 to +10 V DC, two analog outputs (AO1/AO2), seven programmable inputs (X1–X7) and two programmable relay outputs rated 250 V AC/3 A or 30 V DC/1 A.
