What This Product Is
A rigid box is greyboard cut and formed into a shell, then wrapped in a printed and finished paper. Nothing folds flat, so the geometry has to be right at the first assembly. This is the format used for magnetic closure gift boxes, book shaped boxes, drawer boxes and premium collapsible boxes.
We build them with machinery aided rigid box making for the volume lines and full hand making for complicated structures. Wraps are printed CMYK or Pantone on ivory, art, corrugated, kraft, coated or iridescent paper, then laminated, spot UV coated, debossed, embossed, laser cut or foil stamped.

Ivory Paper
The standard premium wrap. Bright white, dense surface, holds fine foil and deboss detail.
Art Paper
Coated stock for photographic wraps and heavy solid colour, normally laminated.
Kraft Paper
Uncoated natural wrap for eco led and artisan positioning, usually with a single colour or blind deboss.
Corrugated Paper
Used where the box doubles as the shipper and needs stacking strength.
Coated And Iridescent Paper
Speciality wraps with pearlescent and metallic effects, used with spot UV and foil.

Structure And Die Line
Engineers build the structure against your product, then issue the die line and a mock up.

Use Guide
Specifying It Well
- Send a physical product sample or a fully dimensioned drawing before the insert tray is quoted. Insert moulds are cut to the product, and a drawing that is 2 mm out is a remake.
- Decide early whether the box ships flat. A collapsible magnetic box and a fixed shell look similar in a render and cost very different amounts to freight.
- Keep foil and spot UV off the fold and hinge lines. Foil cracks where the wrap bends.
- Dark uncoated wraps show fingerprints. If the box is handled at point of sale, specify matt lamination or a soft touch film.
- Allow for the wrap overlap when placing artwork near a corner. The die line shows the safe area, work inside it.
