Sending A Drawing For A Ceramic Part

Our main business is OEM and ODM, and every quotation starts from a drawing, a sample or a written performance requirement. These are the details that let us come back with a price and a lead time instead of a list of questions.

What To Send

• A 2D drawing with dimensions and tolerances, or a 3D file, or a physical sample.
• The quantity for the sample and for the expected production run.
• The duty the part has to survive: temperature, fluid, load, speed and whether it has to be electrically insulating or non-magnetic.
• Any mating part it has to fit, and which dimension is the critical one.

The Four Common Gaps

• No tolerance given. Every dimension then has to be treated as critical, which raises the price of the part for no benefit.
• A material named without a grade. Alumina alone can mean 95% or 99%, and they behave differently.
• A surface finish assumed rather than stated. Polishing is a separate operation.
• No indication of whether the part will be brazed. That decides the alumina grade and the metallizing before anything else.

How To Send It

• WhatsApp is the fastest route for drawings and photographs.
• Email works for larger files and formal RFQs.
• We do not use web upload forms. Send the file directly to a person.
