Rain Wind and Humidity Data Where the Crop Actually Is
Spray windows, frost calls and irrigation decisions are made on conditions in the block, not at the nearest airport. UCTECH builds the outdoor sensors and consoles that put a rain gauge, an anemometer and a thermo-hygrometer in the field and a readable display in the office, over 433MHz where the distance is short and LoRa where it is not.
What Goes Wrong Today
- Regional forecast data misses the frost pocket at the bottom of the block
- A rain gauge at the farmhouse tells you nothing about the shower that hit one field
- Spray decisions taken on a gust that nobody measured
- Wired sensors that cannot be installed because the cable run crosses working ground
- Battery sensors that need a ladder and a service visit every few months
What the Job Actually Needs
- Rainfall resolved to 0.3mm so light showers are actually recorded
- Wind readings updated every 16 seconds rather than averaged over minutes
- Outdoor temperature sensing down to -40 degrees C for frost-prone sites
- A link that reaches from the block to the office without a repeater
- Solar assist so the cells last through a growing season
Typical Installations
- Vineyard blocks where spray timing depends on live gust readings
- Orchards monitoring frost risk overnight from an indoor console
- Greenhouse and polytunnel humidity monitoring on multi-channel thermo-hygrometers
- Irrigation scheduling driven by a real rain total rather than a forecast
- Livestock sheds tracked on 3 or 8 channel wireless sensors
How We Take an Order Through
Tell us the distance from the sensor position to the console and whether walls or buildings sit between them
We recommend 433MHz RF for short single-property hops and LoRa where the sensor sits well beyond it
Choose the console: RF display, Wi-Fi connected, or large TFT for a shared office screen
We confirm sensor pairing and channel counts before the order is placed
Units are ageing tested and rain tested before packing, then shipped with destination-language manuals

Agriculture and Horticulture Questions
How far can the sensor sit from the console
The 433MHz sensors are specified around 100 to 150m in open air and roughly 30m through buildings and foliage. Past that, use the LoRa range.
Will the rain gauge pick up light showers
Resolution is 0.3mm below a 1000mm total, so a light shower registers rather than being lost in a 1mm step.
Do the outdoor sensors survive frost
Outdoor sensing is specified from -40 to +60 degrees C. Fit lithium cells for sites that spend the winter below freezing.
Can one console show several houses or sheds
The multi-channel thermo-hygrometers support 3 or 8 channels depending on model. Tell us how many points you need and we will confirm the right pairing.
Can you supply these under our own brand
Yes. Own-label printing, retail packaging and destination-language manuals are available. Email [email protected] with your markets and quantity.
