When the Sensor Sits Past the 433MHz Limit
Every wireless weather station has a distance where it stops working. Our 433MHz sensors are specified around 100 to 150m in open air and roughly 30m through buildings and foliage. Once the mast has to sit at the far end of a field or on a second roof, the answer is not a repeater. It is a different radio.
How It Runs Step by Step
Measure the Real Distance
Not the distance on the site plan. The distance from where the sensor must physically go to where somebody will actually read the console, including every wall, roof and hedge in between.
Decide RF or LoRa
Inside a house and garden, 433MHz is cheaper and adequate. Across a farm yard, a campus or a multi-building site, LoRa is the honest answer and avoids a repeater that becomes another thing to maintain.
Pick the Console
Our LoRa models pair the long-range sensor hop with a Wi-Fi console, so the outdoor link and the internet link are independent. The FT0310, FT0832 and FT-1006 cover different screen sizes and feature sets.
Confirm Pairing Before Ordering
Do not assume a LoRa sensor talks to an RF console or the other way round. Send us both model numbers and we will confirm in writing before you place the order.
Plan Power
Outdoor heads run on AA or AAA cells with solar assist. The panel supplies the sensor in daylight and the cells carry it overnight; it does not charge them. Fit lithium cells where winter goes below freezing.
Install and Verify
Pair the sensor at the console position before it goes up the mast. Confirm a stable reading, then mount. Two minutes here saves a ladder trip later.

How much further does LoRa reach
Far enough that a repeater stops being necessary on the sites where 433MHz fails. Give us the actual distance and the obstructions and we will tell you whether LoRa covers it.
Do I still need Wi-Fi
Only if you want the data on a phone or in the app. The sensor hop is LoRa either way.
Can I mix LoRa and RF sensors on one console
Send us the console model and the sensors. We confirm compatibility in writing. Do not assume it.
Does LoRa cost more
Yes, per unit. It is worth it only where the 433MHz range genuinely does not reach. On a normal house and garden it is money spent on nothing.
What certifications apply
TBC, and they differ by region for LoRa in particular. Ask us for the current certificate set for your destination market before ordering.
