Double-Sided Projecting Light Box

The Challenge
A projecting box that has to be read from both sides, where lighting each face separately doubles the module count, the wiring and the number of things that can fail.

What Was Specified
The side-emitting models publish a 60 to 200 mm band for double-sided boxes specifically. Mounted on the inside wall with their 3M backing tape, the 4035V puts 360 lm per piece across the cavity at 120 lm/W and the 7420V puts 300 lm at 100 lm/W, so both faces are lit from one run rather than two.
The Result
One array instead of two: fewer joints inside the cavity, one cascade calculation rather than two, and an unbroken face on both sides because nothing is mounted behind the acrylic.

Confirm box depth
The published band is 60 to 200 mm double-sided.
Measured across the cavity, face to face.
Choose the orientation
The optic is asymmetric and has a right way up.
Published as 65x10 and 45x20 degrees for the two orientations.
Set the edge pitch
Too wide and the middle of the face falls off.
Calculated from lumens per piece and the face area.
Seal the joints
IP67 covers the module, not your connections.
Every on-site joint sealed to the same standard as the module body.
