Solar shading and heat gain
Cutting cooling load on glazed elevations without closing off the view.
Glazed elevations in hot climates gain heat faster than the mechanical plant can economically remove it. Fixed louvres and perforated screens intercept the sun before it reaches the glass, which is far more effective than treating the glass alone. The open area and blade angle are set against the orientation of the elevation, so the screen cuts high summer sun while leaving the occupant's view largely intact.
