Bonded honeycomb core for very flat, very light large-format panels
A honeycomb panel bonds two thin aluminium skins to an aluminium honeycomb core. The core carries shear while the skins carry bending, so the panel achieves exceptional flatness over a large span at a fraction of the weight of solid plate.
This is the range specified when a large-format panel has to stay visually flat under raking light, or when the supporting structure cannot take the dead load of thicker solid aluminium.
