Aluminium expanded mesh
Slit-and-stretched aluminium mesh for screens, facades and ventilation
Expanded mesh is made by slitting an aluminium sheet and stretching it in one continuous operation, so the mesh is formed from a single piece of metal with no welds or joints to fail. The result is light, rigid and open, which makes it useful wherever air has to pass but sight lines and security still matter.
Changing the punching and stretching dies changes the bar width and the aperture, so the same process produces everything from a fine decorative mesh to a heavy industrial grade. Panels are then framed, folded or fixed into cassettes to suit the facade.
