Insulated backpan assemblies behind glazed spandrel zones
A backpan closes the spandrel zone behind glazing. QIALUM supplies galvanised steel backpan and aluminium shadow box assemblies, typically with rock wool insulation, to give the spandrel a controlled appearance from outside and a thermal and fire-rated barrier from inside.
Because the shadow box is visible through the glass, the depth, the internal finish and the flatness of the pan all matter as much as the technical performance behind it.
