Screening overlooked balconies and terraces while keeping daylight and airflow.
A solid screen solves overlooking and creates a dark, airless balcony in the process. A perforated or expanded mesh screen solves it by geometry instead: at the viewing angle from outside the pattern reads as closed, while from inside, looking square through it, the view and the daylight come through. Pattern density is chosen against the actual sight lines on the drawing.
