How long does an aluminium facade actually last?
The aluminium itself does not rust, so the service life of the facade is really the service life of the coating and the fixings. Fluorocarbon coatings hold gloss and colour markedly longer than standard polyester powder in high-UV and coastal conditions. Fixings and the substructure matter just as much: a stainless or properly isolated fixing avoids the bimetallic corrosion that ends a facade long before the panel face has worn out.
