What each one actually answers

CE and LVD answer whether the product may be placed on the European market and whether its electrical safety has been assessed. RoHS answers what is in it, which is the question a customs broker and an environmental compliance officer both ask. The IP68 test report answers whether the sealing claim was tested rather than asserted. UL answers the equivalent question for North America.

Why AC modules attract more scrutiny

A DC module behind a driver is a low-voltage component. An AC module runs at 120 V or 220 V inside a sign somebody will eventually open. That moves it into a different conversation with an inspector, and it is the category where the certification file gets asked for first.

Why certificates are sent per request

Which documents a shipment needs depends on the product and on the destination market, and certificates carry issue dates and model scopes that change. Sending the current document against a specific model and a specific destination is more useful than posting a PDF that may be a revision behind.
