Which side goes up?
The tough side of the chair mat is up and the smooth side is down.
What is a lip shape for?
The lip is a tongue that extends under the desk, so the chair stays on the mat when it is pushed fully in.
Will it work on a deep pile carpet?
It is suitable only for low and medium pile carpets. On deep pile the studs cannot reach through to hold position.
What carpet types is it suitable for?
Low and medium pile carpets only. The studded underside needs to reach through the pile to hold the mat.
Will it stay in place without grippers?
Yes. There are no grippers. An anti-slide coating on the underside is designed to keep the mat firmly in place while in use.
