How To Specify A Custom Stainless Steel Sink
Most custom sink quotations stall for the same reason: the enquiry gives a length and a width and nothing else. Here is the full list, in the order we ask for it.
Start with the constraint, not the sink
Tell us what is fixed: the cabinet width, the worktop template, or the sink you are replacing.
Everything else can be designed around that. If nothing is fixed, say so — it changes the advice.
The eight inputs
Overall dimensions and bowl dimensions. These are different numbers and both matter.
Bowl depth. Check the waste trap and any drawer below before committing.
Internal corner radius. A tight radius looks contemporary; how tight is possible depends on depth and thickness.
Steel grade — 304, 202 or 201.
Finish — brushed, PVD colour or nano black.
Drain position — centre, rear centre or rear corner.
Tap holes — how many, what spacing, or none.
Accessories — grid, colander, board, waste kit, and whether they co-pack.
What to send
A dimensioned drawing is best. A worktop template is just as good for undermount work.
A physical sample is the fastest route when you are changing supplier, because it answers questions a drawing leaves open.
Photographs alone are not enough to build from.
What you get back
A quotation against the stated grade, finish and quantity, with any figure we cannot yet fix marked as such.
Design feedback where a dimension will not hold — before you commit to it, not after the sample.
An approval sample made on the production process.

How long does a quotation take?
It depends on how complete the enquiry is. A drawing with grade, finish and quantity is quoted much faster than a length and a width.
Do you need CAD files?
A dimensioned PDF is usually enough. CAD helps for complex ledge work.
