Charger and power bank certifications by market

Certification is the part of a charger order that most often moves the launch date. Knowing which marks travel with the shipment and which need a separate submission is most of the battle.

What ships as standard

Every LEVA charger shipment carries CE, FCC, RoHS and BSCI. ISO 9001 covers the quality system behind it, certified since 2015. In practical terms: EU and US market access, restricted-substances compliance, and a social-compliance audit trail for buyers whose own customers require one.

What needs a separate submission

Regional schemes outside CE/FCC are handled per project. We support PSE for Japan, KC for Korea, CCC for China and SAA for Australia, among others. These are separate submissions with their own test houses and their own timelines — which is why a build requiring fresh certification work is quoted at 40–45 days rather than the 22–25 days of a stock-spec model with branding changes.

Plan certification at the same time as tooling, not after sample sign-off. It is the long pole.

What lithium cells add

Power banks carry CE, FCC and RoHS like the chargers, plus two documents specific to lithium cells:

• MSDS — the material safety data sheet for the cell chemistry, required by most freight forwarders before they will accept the booking.
• UN38.3 — the transport test standard for lithium batteries, covering altitude, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, short circuit and overcharge. Without it the shipment does not move.

Air shipment of lithium cells is possible with UN38.3 documentation in place, but sea freight remains the default for volume power bank orders. The freight planning note covers the timing consequences.

A note on marks you should not accept loosely

Ask any supplier which certificate number belongs to which model, and whether the certificate is held for the exact configuration you are ordering. A mark held for a different port configuration or a different PD curve is not coverage for yours. We reissue per configuration when a custom build changes anything the test report depends on.
