Solar Pump Inverters

A solar pump inverter replaces the diesel genset in the pumping loop rather than the pump itself. The array feeds DC in; the inverter tracks the maximum power point, converts to AC and varies frequency so the pump follows available irradiance instead of tripping when a cloud passes.
Boray covers this from 0.75 kW to 500 kW at 110 V, 220 V, 380 V and 660 V. Every series in the range accepts hybrid DC and AC input, so the same unit can fall back to mains where a grid exists. Protection is where these differ from a general-purpose drive: dry-run protection, water tank level detection, minimum power input, PQ curve and sand cleaning are part of the standard parameter group.
For corrosive or coastal sites, the FD600 adds a split-type sealed structure with conformal-coated boards. Where a project needs one platform for both pumping and general machinery, the BR110-P carries the solar pump function as an option on the standard vector drive.

No. These systems pump when the sun is available and store water rather than electricity, which is why the tank level detection function matters.
What DC voltage does the array need to supply?
For 220 VAC pumps, around 310 VDC Vmp and 350 VDC Voc; for 380 VAC pumps, around 540 VDC Vmp and 620 VDC Voc. The LV40-70 and LV60-90 DC boosters cover arrays that cannot reach these levels.
Can these drives run permanent magnet pumps?
Yes. High-speed, high-frequency pumps, PMSM and synchronous motors run without tuning on the BR600-P series, and the FD600 supports IM and PMSM.
What happens if the borehole runs dry?
Dry-run protection, minimum speed protection and minimum power input protection stop the pump before the motor is damaged.
