Copper Foil for Transformer Windings
C1100 copper foil for transformer windings, made from oxygen-free electrolytic copper with oxygen content below 0.02% and purity of 99.95% or higher. Rolled from 0.2 to 3.0 mm and slit from 50 to 1350 mm, it is the conductor to reach for when current density leaves no room for an aluminium cross section.

Problems this solves
- Oxygen inclusions in low grade copper that show up as brittle edges and cracking during winding
- Conductivity below specification forcing a redesign of the low voltage winding late in the project
- Width and gauge combinations that mill stock lists do not carry
- Surface oxidation between delivery and winding on coils that sat badly packed
Why buyers pick it
- Conductivity at or above 99 %IACS from oxygen-free electrolytic copper
- Tensile strength above 193 MPa, so the foil holds up through bending and winding
- Purity of 99.95% or higher with oxygen content held under 0.02%
- Widths from 50 to 1350 mm slit to your coil dimension
- Meets international standards and complies with American, European, German and Japanese practice
Technical detail
The base material is oxygen-free electrolytic copper, which is what keeps both electrical conductivity and mechanical behaviour inside specification. Width, thickness and length are held to the dimensional tolerance the transformer design calls for rather than a generic band. Surfaces are kept clean and free of scratching so that the interlayer insulation is not compromised during winding.
Quality control
Each coil is dimensionally checked and inspected for edge condition and surface defects before it is packed. Because copper foil is often wound directly against insulation film, the slitting target is a round edge with no burrs, checked coil by coil.
Customisation
Gauge, slit width, inner diameter and coil weight are set per order. Quotation needs the alloy, inner diameter, thickness, width and weight; there is no minimum order quantity.
How it compares
Copper carries roughly the same current in a smaller cross section than aluminium, which matters when the window area is fixed, and it costs more per kilogram. Against copper strip, foil is the thinner format for full-width low voltage turns; strip is the heavier format for high current bars and connections.
Who it is for
Manufacturers of power and distribution transformers, dry-type transformer builders, and maintenance and repair shops rewinding existing units.
