Material for Dry-Type Transformer Coils
Foil-wound dry-type coils depend on the edge of the conductor more than on anything else. A burr a fraction of a millimetre high will cut through the interlayer film, and the fault will not be visible until the coil is tested.
What this application demands
- Round-edge slitting with no burrs and no scratches on every coil
- Even gauge across the full width so the coil builds up square
- Aluminium or copper foil at the exact coil width, from 20 mm upward
- Inner diameter matched to the winding mandrel already installed
Surface finish matters as much as edge condition here. A smooth, flat surface reduces eddy current loss in the finished winding.
