What To Check Before Ordering Artificial Trees From A Chinese Factory
A practical checklist for buyers placing a first artificial plant order in China, written from the factory side of the table.
Confirm What Is Made In House
Ask which components are moulded in the supplier's own workshop and which are bought in. Leaf and frond moulding is the part that decides quality.
Ask to see the mould store. A factory that owns its tooling can repeat a specification years later.
Fix The Specification In Writing
Leaf count, finished height, pot type and colour reference should all be in the specification before production, not implied by a photograph.
Approve a pre production sample and keep it. It is the only object that settles a dispute later.
Ask For Packing Data Up Front
Carton dimensions, CBM, pieces per carton and pieces per container should be available before you order, because they decide landed cost.
Audits And Testing
Retail programmes normally require a factory audit covering production, quality control, labour conditions and environmental measures.
Third party product testing can be arranged on request. Clarify at quotation stage who carries the testing cost, as it is normally the buyer.
