Why the clasp decides everything
A Cuban chain is heavy for its size, and all of that weight hangs on one clasp. Our Cuban necklaces use a box clasp, which closes into a seat rather than relying on a spring - the reason the original product description calls it difficult to lose. If you are specifying a chain for retail, the clasp is the first thing to ask about and the last thing most suppliers mention.
Plating on a chain that moves
Chain is the hardest thing to plate well, because every link rubs against its neighbours. White gold plating over a brass or silver body is the standard build for these necklaces. Ask for the plating specification on your quotation rather than assuming it matches a ring from the same catalogue - a chain gets far more wear.
Stones: cubic zirconia or moissanite
Both are offered. Cubic zirconia is the volume choice and reads well in photography. Moissanite is harder and throws more fire, which shows most on a wide chain where there is a lot of stone in the buyer's eyeline.
Length is a variant, not a fixed spec
These can be custom made in different lengths. For a men's Cuban chain the common retail lengths sit between 18 and 24 inches; for a women's collarbone fit, shorter. Specify the length you want rather than accepting a default.
