Every serious complaint about a ski goggle is a fogging complaint, and fogging is decided by lens construction. A dual-layer lens traps a thin air gap between an outer lens facing the cold and an inner lens facing a warm face, which keeps the inner surface above the dew point. A single-layer lens cannot do this at any price. If your range is going to be reviewed by people who ride all day, start with dual-layer and treat it as the baseline, not the upgrade.

Decide Whether You Are Selling Lens Changes

Magnetic lens systems sell well because a rider can swap tint on a chairlift without taking gloves off. They also add cost to every unit, whether or not the buyer ever changes the lens. If your market rides in stable light, a fixed lens in the right tint is a better use of the money. If your market rides dawn to dusk or in changeable weather, magnetic pays for itself in reviews.

Frameless Or Framed Is A Field Of View Decision

A frameless goggle puts the lens edge closer to the outer edge of the field of view, which is what buyers mean when they say a goggle feels open. A framed goggle is easier to make robust at the strap mounts and usually cheaper. Neither is better. Decide which one your customer notices.

OTG Is A Sizing Decision Made Early

Over-the-glasses fit is not a feature you add later. It changes the frame depth and the foam profile. If a meaningful part of your customers wear spectacles, put an OTG model in the range from the start rather than trying to make a standard goggle work.

Do Not Scale Down An Adult Frame For Kids

What To Ask A Factory Before You Commit

Ask whether the lens is moulded and coated in the same factory that assembles it, because that determines who can fix a coating problem. Ask what the anti-fog treatment is and whether it survives cleaning. Ask to see the goggle assembled in a dust-free environment. Then order samples and put them on a face in the cold.
