Press locked grating
Grating assembled under pressure instead of welded, for a flush surface and a sharp square mesh with no weld marks.
Press locking slots the bars into each other and forces the joint home under pressure. There is no weld, which means no weld spatter, no discolouration around the joint and no proud bead to catch a mop or a shoe.
That is why it appears in stainless and in visible locations. On a welded stainless panel the heat affects the surface around every joint, which is both a corrosion consideration and a visual one; on a press locked panel the material is the same everywhere.
