Difficult designs: unique letterforms, super-thin strokes, very small sizes and special finishes that most fabricators decline.
Most fabrication limits are strike width limits. A stroke below a certain width cannot hold a return, cannot be welded without distortion and cannot carry an LED, and each of those thresholds is different. A design that fails one may pass the others.
We say which threshold a design crosses and what it would take to build it anyway, rather than declining it or accepting it and delivering something thicker than drawn. That conversation is usually more useful at concept stage than at tender.
