Baby diapers are the most competitive product in the range and the one where the specification and the price point are most tightly linked. Core weight, SAP content, backsheet type and elastic count all move the cost, and all of them are visible to a consumer who has used a competitor's product.
Because of that, a brief that specifies only a price is usually a brief that produces a disappointing sample. A brief that names the competitor product you are trying to match, or improve on, produces a usable one on the first attempt.
