A German hydraulic distributor built a private label vane pump cartridge kit range covering the V, VQ and T6 frames its local industry actually uses.
The distributor's counter trade was dominated by a small number of vane frames, but their supply came through a general catalogue that carried hundreds. Stocking to the catalogue meant capital tied up in kits that turned once a year, while the fast movers ran out.
We worked from their own twelve-month sales history rather than from a catalogue, and narrowed the stocking range to the V, VQ and T6 frames that accounted for the bulk of their movement. The kits were supplied under their own label.
The useful outcome was not a lower unit price. It was a shelf that matched what customers asked for, which is a different measurement from a shelf that matches a catalogue.
